MY SHORT-TERM GOAL

John Andre Salubre

As an aspiring esports athlete in the Philippines, my short-term goal is to become a professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) player. I’ve been dedicating my time to understanding the game on a deeper level—studying team strategies, refining my mechanics, and staying updated with meta changes. MLBB has become more than just a pastime for me; it’s a competitive pursuit that drives me to improve every day.

I actively participate in amateur tournaments, online scrims, and ranked games to sharpen my gameplay and build competitive experience. These matches help me develop better communication, map awareness, and adaptability—key traits needed to succeed in the professional scene. I also follow MPL and other pro leagues closely, learning from the top teams and players to apply their techniques and decision-making in my own games.

One of the challenges in chasing this goal is balancing time and resources while staying consistent with training. Despite the obstacles, I remain committed to my grind. I treat each loss as a lesson and each win as motivation to push further. I also engage with the local MLBB community to connect with other players, join teams, and expose myself to higher levels of competition.

Becoming a pro player isn’t just about individual skill—it’s about mindset, discipline, and teamwork. My goal is to eventually join an esports organization, represent a team, and compete in official leagues. In the short term, I’m focused on building my reputation in the amateur circuit, finding the right team chemistry, and proving myself through performance and dedication. Every day I play, I’m one step closer to turning this dream into reality.
